On a College Education
My son graduates from College next week with a Finance degree.
I’m very proud of him, and I’m very happy he worked as hard as he did to complete his program and achieve the recognition and the qualification for a decent-paying job.
And I’m wondering how this new crop of graduates will ultimately contribute to the further creation of this world.
Did they really get a clear and complete picture of the landscape they are about to till?
The Finance majors, the Economics majors, the Accounting, Marketing, History, Government, Political Science, International Studies majors, the Engineers, and the other graduates that will provide the needs of the Machine.
Will they help make the Machine more efficient and profitable for the bosses, eventually sacrificing some of their principles and children to the gods and businessmen of Fear and War, like so many generations before them? Or will they help create a new Machine that uses the number-crunching and the back rooms to make deals for Mankind and Mother Earth?
Think they taught my son and his classmates what they’d be up against in trying to rebuild the Machine … the many examples of war profiteering and how it affects the DOW; of elite drug running and bank fraud and how they affect the market trends; of modern prohibition and monopolistic practices and how they affect the free flow of goods; of the poisoning of the earth in pursuit of residual income; of the infiltration of mafia and Nazi techniques and attitudes into our intelligence agencies and their international business enterprises, and other such contributions to the state of our economy and country?
Think they taught them everything about the two-party manipulation of the government and the legal process to favor the large corporations over the people, their land, their health and their spirit?
Some of the most prevalent and persistent obstacles to a free, peaceful, just, and equitable society; and year after year they are ignored in the curricula of the disciplines they so profoundly affect.
Think this generation that came of age as society blindly accepted the blatant discrepancies in the official explanations of the events that took place on and relating to September 11, 2001 has the perspective to address the needs of a world burdened with large regions of corruption, conflict, and neglect; a world powered by corporations that profit from those burdens and discrepancies?
Besides taking control of TV remotes from parents all across the land, how else will these new graduates affect the world when they move home with their degrees?
